From both Chris and Linda
“Karibu”

(Swahili for “welcome ”)

Chris Branham: Was born in Tanzania East Africa, with Swahili being his first language. He came to Alaska, fresh from British boarding schools, at the age of 18, where he first learned to fly. He has been a bush pilot in Alaska for over 40 years. His families experience in the lodge business motivated him to continue the tradition. Since Linda and Chris shared similar goals, it was a perfect match and they have unequivocally enjoyed every step of the way. When they are not operating the lodge, they enjoy their home, friends and family in Anchorage Alaska.
Linda Grant Branham: Was born in Cedar Rapids Iowa where she grew up in the television business. Besides being involved in running Royal Wolf Lodge, she spends most of her spare time writing fiction. They both love to travel and recommend to friends their favorite places to stay in East Africa. Linda has worked all over the world, but has called Alaska her home the longest, almost 18 years now. She is the mother of Christopher and Alix and the proud grandmother of Miles and Noa, who reside in Colorado.

Chris and Linda have jointly operated Royal Wolf Lodge since their first visualization to create a unique lodge in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness. They both shared a similar vision, a place where people could experience the finest quality Alaska had to offer, not only the fish and wildlife, but also the joy that only nature can provide in a hurried and sometimes stressful world.

They believed that anyone could have the desire to operate a first class fishing lodge, but could they do it well? Their combined experience told them that a lot of mistakes could be made, and the only people that would suffer would be the unsuspecting guests. Why should guests have to pay for the large egos, or perhaps the inhospitable attitude of owners, or a staff that didn’t even like people? If they understood one thing from the beginning it was that this was a business where you had to enjoy the company of all people, love fishing and the outdoors, also caring enough to teach others to respect it.
